When asked how China will support the resumption of dialogue between the US and North Korea as US President Donald Trump said he had instructed the Pentagon to significantly scale back joint military exercises between the US and South Korea, citing the high cost of the drills and his good relationship with the North Korean leader, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said, "We have noted the relevant reports. Maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and advancing the political settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue serve the common interests of all parties."

二 | ２時間６分１８秒で６位に入った山下一貴（三菱重工）ら５人がＭＧＣ切符を手にした。女子は川村楓（岩谷産業）が２時間２５分５５秒で日本勢最高の６位に入り、ＭＧＣ出場を決めた。 初マラソンの吉田響は大失速して３４位に終わった。３０キロ過ぎまで独走も、終盤にペースを落とし、脱水症状などによりフィニッシュ後は車椅子で救護室に搬送された。Ｘに「悔しい形になってしまいましたが、自分にとっては最高の大阪マラソンになりました」などとつづった。顔を含めて体中に貼られた黒い丸テープも注目を集め、所属するサンベルクスの田中総監督は「神経とか筋肉の動きに柔軟性を出すため」と説明した。
